Are you an older person in need of a short, good value break away from the cares and chores of everyday living?

Or perhaps you yourself have an older family member who lives near you, and you would like them to have a spell somewhere where they will have companionship and good food while you take a break, such as a holiday abroad?

Nonsuch Abbeyfield offer a ‘holiday' service, so that older people can come and stay in our York Road house for periods of two weeks or more. Whilst they are with us they can enjoy the companionship of our permanent residents and be able to join fully in the daily life of the house to the extent that they wish.

As is the case for our longer-term residents, we emphasise that we can only accept people who can live independently. We are not a care home and cannot offer care services beyond those already described. We will need to meet you and seek a confidential medical report from your doctor before admitting you to a holiday stay in Abbeyfield.

The charge for a holiday break will be between £40 and 50 per day (depending on room size and seasonal variations). This charge includes two home cooked meals a day, provisions for a self-catered breakfast, heating, laundry and the use of all the house facilities except the telephone. Telephone calls can either be charged at the end of the holiday, or a personal mobile phone can be used.
